NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An NYPD squad car was set ablaze on the Upper West Side early Wednesday morning, police said.

Officers found the vehicle on fire near West 83rd Street and Columbus Avenue, about a block from the 20th Precinct, around 3:50 a.m., the NYPD said.

Police believe someone doused a handful of papers with an accelerant before placing them inside the car on the driver's side and setting them on fire. The blaze didn't injure anyone, the NYPD said.

No one has been arrested in connection with the fire. An investigation is ongoing.
