Stranger stabs boy
1010 WINS

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man was arrested after police say he stabbed a 5-year-old boy in the back as the youngster walked with his mom in the Bronx Sunday.

There was no argument, no provocation – a stranger stabbed the boy for no reason, police said.

The boy and his mom were walking near Daly Avenue and East 180th Street in the West Farms section around 1:20 a.m. when a man walked up to them and stabbed the boy at random, police said.

The boy was rushed to Jacobi Hospital with minor injuries.

The suspect fled on foot, but police made an arrest hours later.

Jesus Felix, 26, was charged with assault, acting in a manner injurious to a child and criminal possession of a weapon.

The suspect is said to be emotionally disturbed. He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital to be evaluated.

Freddy wasn't surprised by the news.

"There's been a lot of that going on the neighborhood for quite some time now – stabbings here in the same vicinity," he said. "I don't know what's happening here, but it's really sad."
