NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police managed to subdue a man who worked into a police station in the Bronx and threatened to stab himself early Sunday.
A 49-year-old walked into the 40th Precinct stationhouse on Alexander Ave. near E. 138th St. in Mott Haven.
The knife he brought fell out of his hand, leading a sergeant to use a stun gun on him and bring him into custody.
He was taken to Lincoln Hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
“Our cops make split-second decisions every day,” Chief of Department Terence Monahan tweeted. “When an emotionally disturbed man armed with a knife walked into the 40th Precinct, these officers acted quickly. Never hesitating and prepared for anything, they utilized a taser — ensuring a safe outcome for everyone. Well done!”
