NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The Police Benevolent Association of the City of New York has made its ongoing calls for NYPD Commissioner James O'Neill official: The group's delegate assembly unanimously approved a resolution of no-confidence in O'Neill, demanding he resign, it announced Wednesday afternoon.
The group represents over 50,000 active and retired NYPD officers.
The resolution states O'Neill has "abandoned the ideals and values of New York City police officers and betrayed the trust of every member of the NYPD, by failing to adequately defend the NYPD and its members from the endless onslaught of demonization and anti-police rhetoric. "
