
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Students who are part of NYPD's Youth Strategies Divisions programs were able to speak with NASA astronauts aboard the International Space Station on Monday.
Astronauts Nick Hague and Christina Koch held live Earth-to-space conversation with students and answered questions at NYPD Headquarters at One Police Plaza.
Students were able to ask the astronauts science and techs questions while they were inside the International Space Station, 250 miles above the earth.
"It was an awesome, inspirational learning experience for all of us." tweeted NYPD Commissioner James O'Neill.
A panel of scientists also discussed NASA’s plans to put the first woman and next man on the Moon by 2024. and preparations for human exploration on Mars.
