NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- New York Sports Club will now stop charging its 600,000 customers for access to their shut down gyms, they confirmed on Wednesday.
The announcement came following a series of class-action lawsuits and multiple investigations by state attorneys general.
"We have adjusted our policies to align with your needs and industry best practices: As a result, your membership will be put on freeze - at no cost to you - going forward while we are temporarily closed," it said in a statement.
The gym also posted the news on its Instagram account.
"To our valued members and community - In continued adherence with State and Federal guidelines concerning COVID-19, all clubs remain closed until further guidance from the state government."
