NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Four NYU students at the Rubin Hall freshman dorm have tested positive for COVID-19, prompting the school to lockdown the dormitory.
An email sent by NYU's head of the COVID-19 Prevention & Response Team, the school "is requiring all Rubin residents to quarantine until at least Tuesday," and students will later learn whether they will be required to isolate even more.
According to state rules, if a school surpasses 100 cases or 5 percent of its on-campus population in a two-week period, then all instruction must switch to remote learning.
Earlier this month, NYU threatened 'disciplinary action' following a video that showed hundreds of maskless students gathered for a party in Washington Square Park.
NYU plans to partner with New York City in order to enforce coronavirus guidelines and have representatives hand out personal protective equipment.
