NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Barack Obama and Joe Biden will team up once again, at a "virtual grassroots event" next week, Biden's campaign announced Monday night.

In a letter signed by Obama to the Democratic presidential candidate's supporters, the former president wrote, "This is a critical moment in our history -- and we need Americans of all backgrounds and political stripes to join together and fight to create a more just, more generous, more democratic America where everybody has a fair shot at opportunity.""That's why I am so excited to be joining my friend Joe Biden to talk about his vision for the country," he added about the June 23 event. "I hope you'll join us for our first virtual grassroots event."

Biden also tweeted about the event, writing, "Folks, I've got some big news: Next week, I'm getting together with my friend and former boss, President @BarackObama, for a virtual grassroots fundraiser. We would love to see you there."
