NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Four pedestrians were struck by vehicles in separate collisions around New York City on Tuesday.
Shortly before 7 a.m. Tuesday, a sanitation truck was pulling out of a driveway and making a right turn onto 57th Avenue near 97th Street in Corona, Queens when it hit a 40-year-old woman walking with her 10-year-old son, police said.
Both victims were rushed to a nearby hospital where 10-year-old Shree Panthee of Queens, later died.

At approximately 11:48 a.m. on Tuesday, a 68-year-old woman was fatally struck by a cement mixer truck at the intersection of New Utrecht Avenue & 49th Street in Brooklyn.
The third accident occurred just before 6 p.m., Tuesday. Police say a 51-year-old man was struck by a bus while crossing Fifth Avenue near 59th Street.
The bus left the scene, and it was not immediately clear if the victim had been in the crosswalk.
Officials have not released his name, but he remains critical at a hospital.
The accident remains under investigation.
There have now been four pedestrians killed by vehicles in New York City since the start of the new year, officials said.
