NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Vice president Mike Pence is putting "a little distance" between himself and others, an administration official told NBC News, just two days after one of his close aides, Katie Miller, tested positive for coronavirus.
Contrary to initial reports, he will not be self-isolating, though.
"Vice President Pence will continue to follow the advice of the White House Medical Unit and is not in quarantine," Pence spokesman Devin O'Malley said.
He added, "Additionally, Vice President Pence has tested negative every single day and plans to be at the White House tomorrow."
Pence, 60, did not attend a meeting on Saturday with President Trump and top military officials., according to Bloomberg News.
Miller is the husband of Trump senior adviser Stephen Miller.
Her positive test result prompted several people who had come in contact with her to get tested and self-quarantine, including 6 colleagues who de-planed an Iowa-bound flight Friday shortly before it took off to go get tested. Their results were all negative.
CDC director Robert Redfield and FDA commissioner Stephen Hahn will also quaranitine for the next two weeks after exposure to a coronavirus-positive White House staffer, their respective agencies announced. The White House did not identify the staffer, but in the case of Hahn, POLITICO said it was Miller.
