NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police confiscated two illegal guns in Brooklyn over the weekend — one of which they took from a "known gang member," the NYPD said Tuesday.
Officers from the 79th Precinct confiscated the weapons, both of which were loaded, in Bedford-Stuyvesant on Friday and Saturday nights.
"Excellent police work by our Nighttime Anti-Crime Team for removing these illegal loaded firearms on Friday and Saturday night from the streets of #BedStuy #Brooklyn. #NYPDprotecting #ItsWhatWeDo #OneLessGun," the precinct tweeted.
NYPD Chief of Patrol Fausto Pichardo tweeted out photos of the guns that were confiscated.
"Phenomenal work by (79th Precinct) Anti-Crime cops who on back-to-back days were protecting NYC, taking these illegal guns off the streets of #BedStuy — one from a known gang member," he wrote.
Police didn't immediately release any additional information about the incidents or say whether anyone was arrested.
