NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A suspect is in custody in connection with the slashing of a woman on her face on a midtown subway, police say.
The slashing happened yesterday just after 5 p.m.
Police say the 24-year-old victim was cut on the cheek while on the E train near the Fifth Avenue – 53rd Street station.
The alleged attacker, identified as 24-year-old Harlens Hernandez of Queens, was arrested and charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
He was taken to a psychiatric facility.
The investigation into what happened is continuing, police say.
