Suspicious package near UN building deemed safe after Bomb Squad investigation

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A suspicious package in midtown has been deemed safe after the it led to street closures and a Bomb Squad investigation.

Second Avenue was shut down between 42nd and 43rd streets as police probed the package. Residual delays are expected.

Citizen App video shows a member of the Bomb Squad and emergency vehicles on an otherwise empty Second Avenue.

The package was found just a block from the United Nations headquarters.
