Port authority tolls set to increase on Sunday

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An increase for toll prices on Hudson River bridges and tunnels will go into effect on Sunday. Prices for peak-hour travel for those using E-ZPass will now be $13.75, up from $12.

Off-peak crossings will increase to $11.75 from $10.50, while cash tolls will now cost $16, up from $15.

The new toll rates apply to the Lincoln & Holland tunnels, the George Washington, Bayonne and Goethals bridges, and the Outerbridge Crossing.

Tolls are collected entering New York. The Bayonne Bridge, Goethals Bridge and Outerbridge Crossing are no longer accept cash toll payments.

Peak Hours:

Weekdays: 6-10 a.m., 4-8 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday: 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

Off-Peak Hours:

All Other Times

Overnight Hours for Trucks:

Sundays-Thursdays, 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning

Port Authority's last series of raises occurred between 2011 and 2015, when peak-hour E-ZPass tolls were raised by 56 percent to $12.50 from $8.
