NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Saturday directed the state police Hate Crimes Task Force to help the NYPD investigate the burning of pride flags outside a gay bar in Harlem on Friday.

The flags were found burned outside the Alibi Lounge early Friday morning – a day before the start of Pride Month on June 1.

Alibi Lounge posted photos of the scorched rainbow flags to Instagram.

“Thanks to the @nypd for doing a great job standing under the rain to help find the a$$hole who set our rainbow flags on fire! The symbol of our pride of being part of the LGBTQ community! We are proud!” the message read.
