NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A protester who taped an axe to his sign at a Manhattan protest was arrested Saturday, police said.
A photo posted by the NYPD shows an axe duct-taped to a sign that reads, "Boomers asked 4 justice, millennials demand justice."
Police said the man also had a small knife in his backpack.
Officers from the 10th Precinct who were monitoring protests near East 17th Street and University Place around Union Square arrested the man, sources told the New York Post.
The man, who has not been identified, was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
"We respect the right to peacefully protest, but remain vigilant for these type of threats," the NYPD said.
