NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A Queens woman was arrested and charged with a hate crime for allegedly throwing a glass bottle at a Black jogger and yelling a racial slur, the NYPD said Monday.
Lorena Delaguna, 53, was arrested and charged with hate-crime attempted assault and hate-crime aggravated harassment, police said Monday.
The NYPD said a 37-year-old Black woman was jogging near the corner of 53rd Place and Broadway in Woodside, Queens around 12 p.m. on Aug. 17 when Delaguna approached her, threw a glass bottle at her and yelled a racial slur.
The Daily News reported that Delaguna used the n-word and yelled, "Why aren't you in Africa?"
The jogger wasn't physically injured, according to police. The NYPD released a video that captured the incident.
Delaguna's attorney information wasn't immediately available Monday.
