NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Federal officials are reportedly looking into possible campaign finance violations by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's chief of staff after his sudden resignation Friday.

The New York Post reports that officials are looking into two political action committees founded by Saikat Chakrabarti—the top aide who left along with her spokesman Corbin Trent.

Two political action committees Chakrabarti controlled— Brand New Congress and Justice Democrats—may have been used to funnel $1 million meant for political donations into two private companies— Brand New Congress LLC and Brand New Campaign LLC—that he also controlled, according to the Post, which cited Federal Election Commission filings and a complaint filed in March.

Chakrabarti was the mastermind of AOC's campaign and Green New Deal. He also rubbed some in Congress the wrong way, especially after a combative series of tweets that led to a rift between him and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

No one in AOC's camp has commented so far.
