NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A half-dozen city correction officers are expected to surrender and be charged with molesting female visitors or covering up the actions of those who did, according to multiple reports.

Five officers and a retired captain – all said to be women – are reportedly among the six expected to surrender at Manhattan Criminal Court on Monday morning.

Sources told The Daily News that the charges against them include unlawful imprisonment, illegal strip searches and falsifying documents.

The sources told the News that allegations include a guard molesting a woman and supervisors covering it up at the Manhattan Detention Complex.

The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office declined to comment to The New York Post, telling the paper: “We aren’t able to provide any information before a defendant’s arraignment [or the> charging documents are unsealed.”

According to NY1, strip searches are legal at the complex, also known as “The Tombs,” but that visitors have to consent before a strip or cavity search.

1010 WINS has reached out to the correction officers’ union for comment.
