Rush Limbaugh: 'I have been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer'

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh said on Monday that he has "advanced lung cancer."

Limbaugh, 69, said he will be out for several days while he undergoes treatment.

"I have been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer," he said. "Diagnosis confirmed by two medical institutions back on Jan. 20  ... I wish I didn't have to tell you this. I thought about not telling anyone, I thought about trying to do this without anybody knowing because I don't like making things about me. But there are going to be days I won't be able to be here because I'm undergoing treatment or reacting to treatment and I know that would inspire all sort of curiosity about what's going on. ... My intention is to come here as often as I can."

He added, "Every day I'm not here, I'll be missing you and thinking about you."

Former NYPD commisisoner Bernard Kerik, tweeted, "Thoughts and prayers for Rush Limbaugh who announces he has 'advanced lung cancer.'"
