NEWARK, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- A school bus carrying special needs kids crashed Wednesday, afternoon near 14th Ave and Jones Street in Newark.

Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries.
The women driving the bus, Lisa Byrd, 57, was taken to a local hospital.
Sources tell ABC7 the woman was on heroin and had to be revived with Narcan.
“When they got to the scene, EMS and the police administered Narcan. She was unconscious,” Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose says, “This is a pathetic situation, with children.”
Bird is facing 12 charges of endangering the welfare of a child, driving while impaired and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
