NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has slammed U.S. Customs and Border Protection of having a "violent culture" after a report revealed the existence of a sercet Facebook group of CBP agents that includes vulgar and graphic jokes about the Democratic congressowoman.
According to ProPublica, the Facebook group is called "I'm 10-15" and had about 9,500 members including current and former border officers. "10-15" is code for "aliens in custody."
"This just broke: a secret Facebook group of 9,500 CBP officers discussed making a GoFundMe for officers to harm myself & Rep. Escobar during our visit to CBP facilities & mocked migrant deaths," Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. "This isn't about a 'few bad eggs.' This is a violent culture."
A group member cited visits by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and encouraged an officer to throw a "burrito at these b-----s." Another member, apparently a patrol supervisor, wrote, "F*** the hoes."
"There should be no photo ops for these scum buckets," posted a third member.
Other posts included a fake photo illustration of Ocasio-Cortez engaged in oral sex at an immigration detention center. Text accompanying the image reads, "Lucky Illegal Immigrant Glory Hole Special Starring AOC."
Another is a photo illustration of a smiling Trump forcing Ocasio-Cortez's head toward his crotch. The agent who posted the image commented: "That's right bitches. The masses have spoken and today democracy won."
"These posts are completely inappropriate and contrary to the honor and integrity I see—and expect—from our agents day in and day out," U.S. Border Patrol Chief Carla Provost said in a statements. "Any employees found to have violated our standards of conduct will be held accountable."
An investigation into the Facebook group has been opened by the department.
Despite the revelation that the Facebook group exists, Ocasio-Cortez visited a facility along the Texas-Mexico border.
"Just left the 1st CBP facility," she tweeted. "I see why CBP officers were being so physically &sexually threatening towards me. Officers were keeping women in cells w/ no water & had told them to drink out of the toilets. This was them on their GOOD behavior in front of members of Congress."
