NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- New Yorkers may have the opportunity to roll around in the white stuff this weekend: The city may be part of the northern edge of a storm expected to slam the mid-Atlantic.
"How quickly this transfer takes place and exactly how far north the secondary storm forms will determine how far north heavy snow is able to spread over the Northeast," according to AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Brett Anderson.
Only if the storm strengthens dramatically along the coast and turns northward would heavy snow spread over areas from northern Virginia to Massachusetts.
This does not mean that absolutely no snow will fall. There is still the potential for accumulating snow and slippery conditions in the New York City area.
