NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Chilly temps settled in across the Tri-State on Monday, marking a return to more seasonable weather after last week's record-breaking heat.
A Freeze Warning was posted for Monday night, when lows were set to drop near freezing in NYC and into the 20s in some suburbs.
Monday's high of 52 is right around the average for this time of year, according to AccuWeather.

It's a far cry from last week's highs, which surged to 90 on Wednesday, to break an 85-year-old record in Central Park.
The cooler temps will continue throughout the work week.
The high will be 53 Tuesday, 63 Wednesday and 70 Thursday before 50-degree temps this weekend.
