ORLANDO (1010 WINS) -- A Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 Max en route to California, where it was to be grounded, was forced to make an emergency landing and return to Orlando International Airport Tuesday afternoon.

The aircraft took off from the airport around 2:30 p.m. and was headed to Victorsville, Calif. to be grounded, Fox 35 reported

But it experienced a malfunction and returned to Orlando for an emergency landing.

The aircraft was carrying only two people: A pilot and a co-pilot.

President Donald Trump previously ordered that all Boeing 737 Max 8 and Max 9 aircrafts be grounded, following the crashes of Air Lion and Ethiopian Airlines flights.
