Anti-Semitic hate crimes have made up the bulk of complaints, including some recent vandalism at Chabad of Staten Island. That's where some local officials spoke during an anti-hate rally on Tuesday morning.

Dozens of young people from the yeshiva stood alongside their rabbis, the DA, the NYPD, Congressman Max Rose and others. They all insisted that love will conquer hate after vandals tagged the house of worship as the 'synagogue of Satan.'

"Every act of evil we need to double and redouble our acts of kindness and this is the only way we can continue in life," Rabbi Moshe Katzman.

Staten Island DA Mike McMahon told the packed room that they were there for love.

"We're taking a stand for light because only light can defeat darkness, we're taking a stand for love," he said.

The large group then stepped outside to paint over the graffiti in a show of unity
