NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The suspected gunman in former Boston Red Sox player David Ortiz's shooting at a Dominican Republic bar on Sunday was arrested on Wednesday, NBC News reported.
Officials said Ramon Martinez Perez -- whose alias is Rolfie -- was detained and is being questioned.
Another man, Eddy Vladimir Feliz Garcia, was arrested at the scene of the shooting -- Santo Domingo's Dial Bar and Lounge -- and charged as an accomplice to attempted murder.
Prosecutors have said the two men were seen on security camera footage talking with other people in the Accent and in a Hyundai in a nearby street before the shooting.
"In one of the videos it was possible to observe both the accused and the shooter planning the commission of the incident right on Octavio Mejía Ricard Street, which is parallel to the place where the event took place," prosecutors said in a court document.
Officials also said that Perez and Garcia were part of a group that was offered 400,000 Dominican pesos (about $8,000 USD) to carry out the shooting.
Forty-three year-old Ortiz, a native of the Dominican Republic, had his gallbladder and part of his intestine removed by surgeons.
Ortiz is currently being treated at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
