NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Eight people were injured when a taxi crashed into a restaurant in Hell's Kitchen Thursday afternoon.
Five of the injured were transported to local hospitals and three people refused medical aid, officials said.
The vehicle crashed into Westville restaurant on Ninth Avenue just after 12:30 p.m. FDNY said. In video to posted to the Citizen App, the severity of the crash is visible.
Ally Hord was sitting inside of the restaurant when the crash occurred: "I was just in a restaurant when a cab fully crashed into it and it is a miracle everyone is ok with only minor injuries but the screaming and crashing noises were absolutely horrifying." Hord tweeted.

July 11, 2019 Some of the victims were sitting outside of the restaurant.
There is no apparent structural damage to the restaurant.

July 11, 2019 Firefighters and EMS are still operating at the scene and the cause of the crash is currently unknown.
The extent of the injuries is currently unknown.
