Teen charged in connection to violent attack on Bodega clerk in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police have arrested one of the suspects in connection to a violent assault and robber of a Brooklyn bodega clerk.

The 15-year-old boy, was arrested and charged with assault, robbery, menacing and criminal mischief, officials said.


On Nov. 17, at approximately 9 p.m., police say the 33-year-old employee was beat with with brass knuckles and a pipe after asking the three suspects to leave the Golden Gourmet Deli and Grill located in Coney Island.

At that point, authorities say the two male suspects began to hit the victim, punching him with brass knuckles and hitting him with a pipe. The third suspect, a female, began taking merchandise from the store.

Officials say the victim was was familiar with the three suspects and has had problems with them in the past.

The clerk was transported to NYC Health & Hospital-Coney Island to be treated for laceration to the back of the head and bruises to face and body, police say.

The other suspects are still at large.
