NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police charged a Brooklyn teen with manslaughter Monday for the death of his infant son.

On Friday, September 27, at 6:41 p.m., police discovered two-month-old Nikollai Major unconscious and unresponsive at 12 Cornelia Street in Bushwick.

EMS transported the infant to Wyckoff Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Quincy Pierre, 19, initially told officials he fell asleep about 3 a.m. Friday with his son in the bed with him.

Pierre told first responders that he found the baby not breathing when he awoke at approximately 6 a.m., officials said.

An autopsy by the city's medical examiner found the baby died from blunt force injuries and his death was deemed a homicide.

Officials arrested Pierre late Saturday night.According to prosecutors, Pierre told NYPD detectives he was alone with the baby in the hours before his death and that he twisted his legs, pressed down roughly on his right rib area, shook him multiple times and held him by the sides while twisting his body rapidly. On Sunday he was arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court on two charges of manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child.

He is being held without bail.
