Thieving duo steals Mustang, robs people at gunpoint across NYC

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – The NYPD says two men have been driving around in a stolen Mustang and robbing people at gunpoint across the city this month.

Police said the attacks started in Brooklyn on Aug. 1, when the thieves walked up to a 24-year-old man in Crown Heights, flashed a gun and stole his cash, credit cards and red ford Mustang.

Just seven hours later, the duo robbed a 14-year-old man in Harlem before fleeing in their stolen Mustang, according to police.

Then on Aug. 2, the men targeted an 18-year-old man in Chelsea and a 41-year-old woman in Astoria over the course of a couple hours. In both cases, they got nothing and drove away in the Mustang, police said.

The fifth and most recent robbery was in Chelsea last Tuesday, according to police, who said the men stole jewelry, cash and a cellphone from a 40-year-old man who was out walking.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
