NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Flash floods and thunderstorms battered the region Monday night and a flash flood warning remains in effect until noon Tuesday.
The storms left hundreds of thousands without power.
Over 200,000 customers are still without power in New Jersey after severe storms hit the region Monday night.

This includes 173,000 Jersey Central Power & Light customers and 54,000 PSEG customers.
Torrential downpours hit the region and winds in some places hit 60 miles per hour.
Local streets saw significant flooding and trees fell, damaging power lines.
Con Ed outages are still affecting 3,500 New York City customers.
This is out of 33,000 customers who were affected at the peak of the outage.
Additionally there are 2,600 PSEG Long Island customers currently without power.
Tuesday will be mostly cloudy, cooler and less humid with lingering showers, mainly in the morning can be expected. High 77.
