NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- It's finally over.

Public defender Tiffany Caban conceded the Democratic race for Queens district attorney at an event in Queens Tuesday night -- more than one week after Queens borough president Melinda Katz was declared the winner.

"This campaign may be over, but the movement does not stop," Caban told supporters at Katch beer garden in Queens. "We are just getting started."

She added, "To every woman, to every young person of color, to every queer person, every single human being who was inspired by the movement we built, you are next ... And I promise that I will be the first there knocking on doors for you."

Katz has won by 55 votes — 34,913 to Caban's 34,858.

Next up for Katz is the Nov. 5 general election against Republican candidate Daniel Kogan.
