NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Just days ahead of the PGA Championship on Long Island, Tiger Woods has found himself in legal hot water.
Woods and girlfriend Erica Herman are being sued by the family of a 24-year-old former employee at the pro golfer's Florida restaurant, who claim the staffer was over-served alcohol to the point of "severe intoxication," which led to his death in a car crash after he left the restaurant last December, TMZ reported.
Nicholas Immesberger worked as a bartender at The Woods restaurant in Jupiter, Florida.
Immesberger's parents filed the lawsuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, and said that their son was recruited to work at the restaurant by Herman and that he knew Woods personally
According to the report, Immesberger finished his shift on December 10, but stayed at the restaurant afterwards to drink. He was then allegedly served to the point of "severe intoxication" before he left and hopped in his car. Immesberger died in a crash on his way home.
According to the lawsuit, Woods and Herman both knew their employee had a "habitual problem with alcohol," and that Woods is "directly responsible for ensuring that his employees and management ... were not over serving its employees/customers."
Immesberger's blood alcohol level was .256, more than three times the legal limit, per the report.
Representatives of Woods have not yet publicly commented.
