NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – President Donald Trump is slamming his social media critics for making a meme out of a photo of him that appears to show a significant tan line on his face.

“More Fake News,” the president tweeted Saturday. “This was photoshopped, obviously, but the wind was strong and the hair looks good? Anything to demean!”

The photo in question shows Trump on the South Lawn of the White House. He appears to have a noticeable tan or makeup line on his face.

The photo in question went viral on Friday after it was posted by Twitter user @photowhitehouse. By Saturday the hashtag #OrangeFace was trending on Twitter.

It appears the viral photo was an enhanced version of an Associated Press photo taken on Friday. In the photo, Trump was returning to the White House after traveling to North Carolina.

The @photowhitehouse Twitter account posted an update Saturday saying "this picture was never photoshopped, but used the Apple smartphone’s photo app to adjust the color of the picture."
