NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 63-year-old man used his cane to fend off a man attacking him with milk crates on a Brooklyn street.
Video released by police shows the suspect swinging at the man with milk cartons outside the Wing Luck restaurant on Livonia Avenue in Brownsville last Sunday afternoon as the victim uses a cane to block the strikes.
Police said the suspect struck the man several times before running off, leaving him with cuts and swelling.

The victim told the Daily News that he was out buying eggs and crackers when he was attacked from behind by the man, who came up and hit him on the back of the head.
He said he chose not to hit the attacker even when he had the chance.
“Maybe I felt sorry for the guy,” Luis Diaz told the paper. “You could see a few times I had his crate caught, and I could of hit him, but I decided not to. It’s not in me, I don’t like to hurt people.”
“I know he’s got to have some type of mental issues,” Diaz added. “But just because it happened once doesn’t mean I’ll have pity on the next one.”
