NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Cops are searching for a man who dragged a woman by her purse as he tried to mug her on a New York City street earlier this month.
Video released by police Tuesday shows the 47-year-old victim clinging to her purse as the man tries to pull it away from her near University Avenue and West Tremont Avenue in University Heights.
In the video the woman falls to the ground but continues to hold on to her bag. The thief ultimately gave up and took off, police say.
According to the Daily News, the woman was taking her daughter to school during the attempted mugging, which happened back on March 8.
"I think the attacker just wanted to go for someone that looked weak, a woman just taking her daughter to school," her son told the News.
