The New York Times Food Festival

The NYT Food Festival is made up of three events: The Park, The Talks and The nights and there are so many reasons to stop by each. Whether you're there for the Cooking Stage programming or for the panels, this event is as delicious as it is informative. A portion of Bryant Park will be non ticketed and open to the public with additional food and drinks available for purchase. See you there!

Bike Ride and Picnic Through Central Park

Enjoy Central Park's scenery as you pedal along comfortably at your own pace. If you don't own a bike, renting is a very easy and affordable option. Explore attractions like Belvedere Castle, Strawberry Fields, Alice in Wonderland, Bethesda Fountain and once you build up an appetite take in the sights and relax with a picnic. Don't forget your camera and comfortable shoes.

Oktoberfest Under the Archway

Can't make it to Munich this year? Bring the whole family to Brooklyn for the next best thing. The Dumbo Archway will be transformed into a traditional German Beer Hall this weekend. Try some limited edition steins, traditional Oktoberfest themed food and try out the "Pick-your-own-apples" photo experience while the Oompah bands plays in the background. This event will definitely be a crowd pleaser.

When: Friday Oct. 4, 5 - 9 p.m., Saturday Oct. 5, 1 - 9 p.m.

Strut Your Mutt NYC

The New York chapter of Best Friends Animal Society is teaming up with other rescue groups, shelters and animal welfare organizations to help save the lives of homeless cats and dogs at this year's Strut Your Mutt event. All funds raised go directly to lifesaving programs, such as spay and neuter services, adoption events and more. The event features also features doggie yoga and reiki, paw painting, a Smooch Your Pooch photo booth and humans can enjoy the Six Point Brewery beer garden. 1010 WINS is the official media partner for the event, with Midday Anchor Susan Richard serving as emcee.

Where: Manhattan's Pier 84, Hudson River Park

When: Saturday, Oct. 5, Registration begins at 10 a.m.
