NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police released a disturbing video on Tuesday of a woman that was brutally beaten in an attempted sex assault in Brooklyn.
The incident occurred on August 25 at approximately 6 a.m. at the southwest corner of Division Avenue and Rodney Street in Williamsburg, authorities said.
According to officials, a 46-year-old woman was walking when she was approached from behind by the suspect who then picked her up and slammed her onto the sidewalk.
The suspect then knelt beside the victim and is seen repeatedly punching her in the face and body.
Officials said the suspect then attempted to take the victim's pants off as she was dazed laying on the sidewalk.
The suspect fled the on foot on Division Avenue towards Keap Street, police said.
The victim sustained severe head and body trauma, officials said.
EMS transported her to Brooklyn Hospital where she is in a medically induced coma.
Police describe the suspect as an adult man with a light complexion and a full beard.
He was last seen wearing a yellow hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored pants, and red sneakers.
