VIDEO: Woman burned with chemical substance in Brooklyn, suspect sought


NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for an attacker in a medical mask they say dumped a chemical liquid on a woman as she stepped outside her apartment building in Brooklyn on Monday.

Officials released surveillance where just before 11 p.m., the suspect is seen holding a bottle while sitting on the stoop on the corner of 64th Streer and Ninth Avenue in the Sunset Park area.

As the victim walked out to take out the trash, the suspect got up with the bottle in his hand and walked behind her.The video cuts off just before he pours the liquid.The 39-year-old victim was taken to Maimonides Medical Center in stable condition, with chemical burns to her face, neck, shoulders and back, police say.The woman had not interacted with the attacker before the assault.

The suspect fled west on 64th Street.

Officials say he wore a mask over his face, gloves, a black hooded sweater, light sweatpants and sneakers.
