NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 58-year-old Bronx woman was killed Thursday morning after her ex-husband allegedly slashed her with a machete and then ran her over. Police are searching for the ex-husband.
Around 7 a.m., the NYPD responded to a 911 call for an assault at 533 Ellsworth Avenue.
Upon arrival officers found the victim -- identified by the NYPD on Friday as Noelia Mateo --"unconscious and unresponsive with trauma to the body," police said.
EMS responded and transported her to Jacobi hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
Police are searching for Mateo's ex-husband, Victor Mateo, 63. He is described as Hispanic, approximately 5'9", 160lbs; with salt and pepper hair.
