JERSEY CITY, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- Officials are investigating after two men were robbed at gunpoint in Jersey City over the weekend, authorities said.
According to Jersey City spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione, on Saturday, May 1, just before 3 a.m., the victims were approached by a man at Newark Avenue between Hoboken and Central avenues in the Journal Square neighborhood.
The suspect struck a 21-year-old victim with a handgun and then he robbed the two men of their cell phones, a wallet, and an undisclosed amount of cash, Wallace-Scalcione added.
The 21-year-old victim was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said an investigation is ongoing.
