BAYONNE, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- Police launched an investigation after a body was found wrapped in a tarp along a highway Tuesday afternoon in New Jersey.
The body was discovered in a wooded area near the northbound side of Route 440 by the 63rd Street exit in Bayonne but it is unclear by who.
Bayonne police officers and members of the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office were called to the scene to conduct an investigation.
Authorities believe the body may have been there for some time before. it was found but have not released other details.
An investigation remains ongoing.
