NEWARK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Police are investigating a shooting on Wednesday in Newark that left a 13-year-old boy injured.
The shooting happened around 10:43 a.m. on the 100 block of Leslie Street, police said.
The boy was taken to University Hospital in stable condition.
A nearby school, Bragaw Avenue School, went under a brief lockdown as a result, police said.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting, including any potential relationship between the victim and the shooter, weren't immediately known.
The investigation is ongoing.
