MANSFIELD, N.J. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Officials launched an investigation after a 6-year-old boy drowned at a New Jersey day camp earlier this week, authorities said Tuesday.
Just before 2 p.m. on Monday, the boy was found unresponsive in a swimming pool at Liberty Lake Day Camp located in Mansfield.
A lifeguard pulled the boy out and camp workers performed CPR on him before he was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office said.
An autopsy will conducted and an investigation remains ongoing, prosecutors said.
