Boy, 12, arrested for threatening LI middle school on Instagram

COPIAGUE, N.Y. (1010 WINS) – A 12-year-old boy was arrested after he made a threat of mass harm against his Long Island middle school, Suffolk County police said.

Monday morning’s arrest was in connection to a social media post directed at Copiague Middle School, according to police.

Someone called 911 to report an Instagram post that included a photo with a gun, police said.

Investigators determined the threat was not credible.

The boy was charged with making a threat of mass harm.
