NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Suffolk County Police are investigating after a 7-year-old girl was found unresponsive in a Melville, Long Island hotel pool Thursday afternoon by a family member.

Katlyn Pineda, who lives in the Bronx, was found at the Marriott Melville Long Island hotel around 4:50 p.m. and given CPR.


Pineda was taken to Plainview Hospital in critical condition. She was later transferred to Cohen Children's Medical Center in Queens.

The circumstances around the incident are still being investigated.
