VIDEO: Woman, 61, fatally struck by reversing construction backhoe in Brooklyn
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A woman was fatally run over in a crosswalk by a reversing backhoe near a Brooklyn construction site over the weekend, a video shows.
Estelle Davis, 61, a nurse was found after being fatally struck near New Lots and Van Sinderen Avenues in East New York about 2:20 p.m. on Friday, officials said.
Davis was rushed to Brookdale University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The backhoe appeared to come from a construction site on that corner that has been hit with five violations and 15 complaints since 2016, according to Buildings Department records.
Detectives are looking into potential contractors and workers onsite at the time of the incident, police said.
No arrests have been made and an investigation remains ongoing.
