NEW JERSEY (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – The Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music at Monmouth University is set to expand with a 30,000-square-foot building, the university announced on Wednesday.
The new building will house archives, related exhibition galleries, and a 230-seat theater.
”This beautiful and functional facility will enhance cultural and educational opportunities in New Jersey and our region, expand academic scholarship, and position Monmouth University as a national leader in arts education," Monmouth University President and Archives Board Chair Patrick F. Leahy said.
Designed by the highly acclaimed COOKFOX architectural firm based in New York City, the facility won’t be far from where Bruce Springsteen penned his iconic song, "Born to Run” almost half a century ago.
A fundraising campaign is currently underway, aiming for $45 million for construction.
The facility is expected to open its doors in the spring of 2026.
The Bruce Springsteen Archives serves as the official place for Bruce Springsteen’s songs and other written works, plus photographs, recordings, films, and artifacts related to Springsteen and the E Street Band.

In addition, the Center for American Music produces museum exhibitions, seminars, educational workshops, concerts, and various other public programs.
It aims to promote and celebrate American music in all its forms and its profound impact on American culture and national identity.
