HARRISON, N.J. (WCBS 880) -- A 2-year-old died and a second child was hospitalized in critical condition Tuesday night after they were pulled from a swimming pool at a New Jersey home, authorities said.
Just after 8.p.m., officers responded to a call for children in distress in a swimming pool located on Malus Court in Harrison Township.
The children were given CPR before they were transported to area hospitals, said Thomas Gilbert, chief of detectives with the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office.
The 2-year-old died, while a 4-year-old child remains hospitalized in critical condition, Gilbert said.
The children are related but not siblings, Gilbert said.
An investigation remains ongoing, but it appears to be accidental, he added.
